2025-2026 ECG Event Planner for middle schools

2025-2026 ECG Event Planner for middle schools

Duval County Public Schools Middle School Principals,

Welcome to the scheduling portal for your school’s upcoming ECG Screening Session.

This initiative supports 8th-grade students who plan to participate in high school athletics next year or in the future.

In accordance with Florida’s Second Chance Act, all students participating in high school athletic programs must complete an electrocardiogram (ECG) screening before engaging in any athletic activity.

Through our partnership with the Duval County Public Schools and Who We Play For, we are pleased to offer these screenings on-site at your school—providing families with a convenient and affordable option.

Please select your preferred screening date from the calendar below.

Only one school may be scheduled per date; once a date is reserved, it will no longer be available to others.
We encourage you to schedule early, as dates are expected to fill quickly.

As you select your screening date, please consider the following to help maximize participation and minimize disruption:

  • Location: Identify where screenings will take place (e.g., gymnasium, classrooms).
  • Timing: Determine whether the event will occur during the school day or after school hours.
  • Staff Support: Ensure adequate staff are available for check-in and supervision, including both male and female chaperones.

The screening fee ($20 before Jan 2026) ($40 after Jan 1, 2026) covers the cost of the screening and supplies. It provides basic interpretation based upon FHSAA policy and provides this information back to the individual student/parent via email. Parents are responsible for submitting this information to the high school for their student-athlete.

I attest that our school will promote this opportunity to parents/students to maximize participation, will provide staff to assist with check in and general supervision and will coordinate the screening rooms to allow separate spaced areas for both boys and girls.
